What is Public Health?

Public Health is defined as “the art and science of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the organised efforts of society” (Acheson, 1988; WHO).

The focus of Public Health is not merely on preventing diseases but also in improving other domains of health & wellbeing. At the heart of Public Health, it's about improving the health of communities. If you are keen on knowing more about the Public Health in NUS, look no further!

ABOUT US

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Public Health Club (PHC) is a student-led interest group with the dual missions of bringing together the NUS Public Health undergraduate community, and promoting public health in and out of NUS campuses. Serving as the bridge between undergraduates and the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), PHC is the go-to platform for students to deepen their interest in Public Health, as its various departments provide many avenues for experiential learning and innovative change.
